International Consulting Opportunities - Telecoms (9th April 2008)

In order to satisfy the growing demand for our services, we are currently looking for a number of individuals to join our team and work on a variety of exciting and challenging consulting assignments, contributing expertise in the following disciplines:

Numbering;
Access and Interconnection;
Spectrum Management;
Radio Communications Technologies;
Next Generation Networks;
Telecoms Economics and Economic Regulation.

The ideal candidates for these roles will be highly motivated and able to offer relevant academic/professional accreditation combined with significant industry experience. They should be creative thinkers, capable of engaging directly with clients at all levels and influencing decision makers, whilst displaying a strong aptitude for team-working and effective project management. A proven ability to identify and secure profitable new business opportunities would be advantageous. As much of our work is international in scope, willingness to travel is a prerequisite, whilst command of a second language is desirable though not essential. An industry-standard remuneration and benefits package will be available for the right candidates.

Graduate Entrant – Research and Consulting (11th April 2008)

As part of the expansion of InterConnect’s consulting team, we are also looking to recruit a graduate entrant. Initially, the position will involve undertaking research and carrying out primary analysis of information to support various consulting projects, though with an emphasis on fixed and mobile network interconnection, local loop unbundling, Next Generation Networks and numbering issues. In the longer term, the objective is that the postholder should develop into a full-time consulting role within the company, working on a variety of exciting and challenging assignments.

The ideal candidate for this role will be highly motivated, hard working and able to demonstrate an aptitude for research and data analysis tasks. They will have the ability to organise, prioritise and manage activities across a variety of simultaneous assignments, and be able to work unsupervised and under pressure, exercising their initiative and flexibility in order to ensure that project goals are met. They should be computer literate and familiar with use of the core Microsoft Office applications, whilst some knowledge of a second language is desirable though not essential.

Applicants should possess a degree or equivalent qualification, ideally in a technical or business-related discipline such as engineering or economics, or be studying for such and expecting to graduate this summer. Some understanding of the telecommunications and ICT sector would be advantageous. As most of our work is client-facing, good interpersonal skills and the ability to make confident and well-researched presentations before client groups are key attributes. Initially, the job will be based at our Chepstow offices but, given the international scope of our consulting projects, applicants should be willing to travel overseas as and if required.
