Due Diligence

Technical Due Diligence

In any business acquisition, it is paramount that the investor establishes the nature and condition of the various fixed assets. In the case of a telecommunications network, however, the asset base is important not just in representing simple value for money, but also in determining to what extent the investor’s intended business plan may be realisable without the need for additional, and perhaps significant, investment.

InterConnect Communications can undertake a full review of the key technical assets of the company i.e. the extent and capability of the operator’s physical network. We have specialist staff with extensive practical experience of assessing network facilities, and who can provide expert advice on an operator’s key asset base. Such an assessment might typically cover:
  • An analysis of all existing network infrastructure;
  • Quantifying the capacity of the transmission and distribution networks and the level of current and expected future utilisation;
  • Reviewing how well switching capacities compare to demand;
  • Reviewing operating and maintenance processes and procedures;
  • Establishing the state of existing network elements and their suitability to support new technologies and services including broadband, triple-play and quad-play;
  • Reviewing committed and future capital expenditure plans;
  • Analysing the degree of integration of back-office and Operational Support Systems.
