Management Team

Suresh Subramanian (Chairman)

Suresh is a Vice-President with Telcordia and Chairman of InterConnect's Board of Directors. He is responsible for the global sales and marketing efforts in Telcordia’s Interconnection Solutions organisation, with a focus on the international business related to interconnection and numbering. Prior to this assignment, Suresh led the Global Services International Business, providing both consulting and product-related services to the marketplace and also ran the Business Optimization Services Business Unit, a multi-million dollar global practice that provided expert-based solutions covering strategy, people, process and technology for the integrated communication marketplace.

Suresh joined Telcordia in June 1988 with Ph.D. (1988) and Masters (1986) degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelors degree (1984) in the same discipline from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Fintan Healy (Director, Legal and Regulatory)

Fintan is an expert in the regulation of electronic communications with over 25 years experience in the sector. He started his career at GEC Telecommunications in 1981 where he worked as a software engineer, before joining the Systems Verification and Regulation department at Mitel in 1983. Fintan joined InterConnect Communications in 1989 as a consultant working extensively on product certification, legal and regulatory projects and technical studies.

He increasingly focused on regulatory work, advising a number of EU Accession countries on adoption of Acquis Communautaire compliant laws, regulations and regulatory regimes in addition to working on major project engagements for both regulators and service providers in the Middle East and Africa. In addition to his consulting work, Fintan also provides client-specific training programmes on the regulation of communications including licensing, interconnection and universal service. He holds qualifications in both electronic engineering and law.

Eric Tyson (Director, Commercial Services)

Eric Tyson has worked in the telecommunications industry for 25 years, initially with BT dealing with equipment approvals, international affairs and market deregulation before joining InterConnect Communications as a senior consultant in 1995. Since then, Eric has worked extensively throughout Europe (in particular Central and Eastern Europe), Africa and the Middle East. He has broad experience of working with fixed and mobile operators, as well as regulators and ministries, advising on general regulation and specifically on cost allocation, interconnection, local loop unbundling and international benchmarking.

Eric is a regular presenter at industry conferences and often chairs conference proceedings. He speaks on a broad range of regulatory topics and specialises in interconnection and cost allocation. He holds a BSc. (Hons) Degree in Chemistry from the University of Durham (Hatfield College).

Phil Harris (Director, Technical Services)

Phil manages InterConnect’s radio spectrum management business area . Phil joined InterConnect Communications in 1990 and has over 22 years of ICT industry experience with specific expertise in the design of radio and television broadcasting systems, the establishment of telecommunications terminal equipment certification regimes and management of the radio spectrum. He is an experienced manager of large projects in a number of diverse areas, including the development of radio frequency spectrum management and monitoring organisations and their activities (policy, organisational structure, processes, procedures, equipment specification, procurement and installation and associated training) and implementation of certification regimes.

Phil has led or participated in successful projects in the above areas in Bangladesh, Botswana, Ghana, India, Lebanon, Qatar, Malaysia, Nepal, Russia, Romania, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Uzbekistan. He has an Honours degree in Applied Physics from London University.

Alan Turner (Finance Director)

Alan joined InterConnect as Financial Director and Company Secretary in 1999 and is responsible for all aspects of finance, information technology and company administration. Before joining InterConnect, Alan spent six years with the healthcare division of Compass Group, latterly as corporate commercial manager. Before that, he was with Stoy Hayward, initially in Toronto and then in London, specialising in corporate finance.

Alan holds a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from Glasgow University and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in 1986.
