Over recent years, InterConnect's Internet Infrastructure and Governance team has undertaken a number of strategic and influential key client projects. Fortunately, many of these projects are in the public domain, allowing us to show-case our work in much more detail than usual and we are therefore very pleased to list the most recent of these below as reference works.

A Review of the GNSO Policy Development Process (ICANN)

InterConnect was contracted by ICANN to assess the effectiveness of ICANN’s Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO) Policy Development Process (PDP) and whether the current GNSO PDP process satisfies the needs of the multi-stakeholder model and Internet users. Read more.

Report into Implications of Deployment of Carrier Grade Network Address Technology (Ofcom)

One tool for conserving IPv4 addresses is called Carrier Grade Network Address Translation, or simply CGN. InterConnect was contracted by the UK regulator Ofcom to undertake a study on the implications of the deployment of CGN technology for policy issues. Read more.

IPv6 Deployment Study (Ofcom)

As of February 2011, the central pool of available Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) addresses held by Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) was finally exhausted. The UK regulator Ofcom wished to understand the technical, sociological and economic impacts of the deployment and adoption of IPv6 and InterConnect was contracted to provide a broad and independent review of IPv6 deployment in the UK. DNSSEC Deployment Study (Ofcom)

DNS Security Extensions (DNSSEC) was developed to help secure the Internet by providing digital authentication/assurance of the validity of DNS Name query responses, making it possible to identify fraudulent DNS name query responses. The objective of InterConnect’s DNSSEC Deployment Study was to provide independent technical and systems expertise and knowledge to support Ofcom in developing an analysis of DNSSEC in the public internet in the UK.
