About TRMC

Frequently Asked Questions

In developing the TRMC part of the website, we have sought to provide as much information as we can for those interested in or already registered for the courses. Nevertheless, we have summarised below a number of the most frequently asked questions which are regularly asked.

Is accommodation included in the class fees?

Classes in London:

Accommodation is not included in the fees and must be booked directly by the delegate in a hotel of their choice including, subject to availability, the course venue itself (Hilton London Kensington).   Please see http://www3.hilton.com/en/hotels/united-kingdom/hilton-london-kensington-LHRHITW/index.html to reserve a room at the course venue. The following 2017 courses will take place in London:

Regulatory Master Class
3 - 6 July 2017

Master Class in Numbering and Number Portability
25 - 28 September 2017

Classes in Bath:

Accommodation is included in the fees in the same four star hotel where the courses are held (Hilton Bath City). InterConnect manages all aspects of your accommodation directly with the hotel - there is no need for you to arrange accommodation yourself. The following courses will take place in Bath in 2017:

Master Class in Interconnection and Next Generation Networks and Access
2 - 6 October 2017

Regulatory Master Class
13 - 17 November 2017

Master Class in Advanced Regulation
20 - 24 November 2017

What else is included in the fees?

For London classes, fees include the training, refreshments during the course and a 2 course lunch. The fees for our Bath courses include the training, accommodation at the class venue along with breakfast and lunch each day, and evening meals at social events on the Tuesday and Thursday. For more information on what's included in the fees, see What's Included.

I want to bring my partner/family with me, is this possible and are there extra costs?

Yes, of course, you can bring your partner/family however there are additional charges which are applied by the hotel and which you are responsible for settling directly with the hotel. Additional charges primarily relate to additional occupancy / rooms and meals.

For example, there is an extra charge of £20 per partner or £70 for a partner and children as you are upgraded to a family room. Children under 18 are free in the same room as parents while children under 10 years eat free from the child menu. Family rooms are limited, however, so if you are planning on bringing your family, please let us know as soon as possible so we can book the room for you. Please note, the charge for partners/family staying with you is to be paid direct to the hotel on checking out.

Partners and family are also welcome to join us for most of the social events. The only exception is the course dinner which is for delegates only.

How do I get to the Hilton Kensington from London Heathrow?

From Heathrow Airport, you can catch the Heathrow Express, Heathrow Connect or London Underground into London Paddington.

  • Depending on terminal, the Heathrow Connect service takes from 30 to 50 mins and costs £10.30 one-way. It runs every 30 minutes.
  • The Heathrow Express takes only 15-20 mins and there are trains every 15 mins but a single journey is £22 off-peak or £25 during peak hours (but can be cheaper if bought in advance).
  • Finally, you can take the London Underground (Piccadilly Line) from all terminals into London. Journey time around 50 mins and single fare cost of £5.90. You do not have to go all the way to Paddington however but can go straight to the hotel. You will have to change stations a couple of times but it is otherwise straightforward.

From Paddington station, taxis are available 24 hours a day to take you directly to the Hilton London Kensington hotel OR the hotel is located two minutes away from Shepherd's Bush station, which is serviced by the Central line and Overground services.

Alternatively, taxis are available to take you directly to the hotel. The journey normally takes 40 minutes from the airport at an approximate cost of £55.

How do I get to Bath from London Heathrow

Travel to Bath is your own responsibility and at your own cost. You can get to Bath either by train (via London Paddington) or coach. The following websites can assist with timetables and pricing - www.nationalrail.co.uk and www.nationalexpress.com.

Do we have to pay VAT?

UK VAT will be applied at the standard UK VAT rate (currently 20%). However, certain exemptions in the VAT regulations mean that VAT will be zero-rated for some organisations. See our Pricing page for more information.

Can you help with visa applications?

We cannot directly help you with visa applications - this responsibility remains with delegates and their employers. Once we have received and processed your registration, however, we will be happy to issue you with a letter confirming your registration on the course and which you can include with your application.

When will my place be confirmed (and how)?

When we acknowledge your registration, we confirm it on a provisional basis and a place is only guaranteed once payment in full has been received (for more information, see our Terms and Conditions).

As soon as we receive payment of your invoice, our accounts department will e-mail you confirmation of your place on the course.

Do I need to bring anything with me (i.e. stationery / laptop etc)?

InterConnect provides notepads and stationery for the class. You do not need to bring a laptop for any of the course work.

Is there internet access in the hotel?

Yes, there are wireless networks in both course venues. Please note however that any wired access in rooms may be chargeable.

If you have any other questions regarding the courses that are not covered above or within the site, please feel free to contact us and we will answer your question as fully as we can.
