Radio Spectrum Management and MonitoringElectronic Frequency Allocation Table (E-FAT) One of the key documents which must be in place for any regulator to be able to effectively manage the radio spectrum is a National Frequency Allocation Table (NFAT) - sometimes called a National Frequency Allocation Plan (NFAP). This document defines which services (e.g. Mobile, Amateur, Maritime, Broadcasting, Fixed, Aeronautical) are allocated which parts of the radio spectrum (or whichband of frequencies).
Each national table is based on the appropriate ITU international frequency allocation table. In Europe, Africa and the Middle East, for example, every national table will be based on the ITU Region 1 table, which is then modified to take account of local frequency usage. Developing a NFAT can be a time-consuming task, as all national radio users must usually be consulted for a draft to be drawn together. Getting a draft agreed between all the parties concerned can take many months of consultation.InterConnect Communications has prepared frequency allocation and spectrum assignment tables and documents in many countries, however we have taken the development and presentation of a NFAT to the next level. InterConnect has developed an Electronic Frequency Allocation Table (E-FAT), a demonstration of which is given below. The E-FAT has a number of significant advantages over traditional paper-based versions, namely:
